At Brinsley Dog Grooming we proudly adhere to the 5 'Freedoms' outlined in the Animal Welfare Act 2006 by ensuring the following:

🐾 FREEDOM FROM HUNGER & THIRST
Fresh, clean water is available for every dog.

🐾 FREEDOM FROM DISCOMFORT
When dogs are on the grooming table or in the bath they are secured by safety equipment suitable for their size and breed to prevent jumping or injury from jumps. Elderly dogs are welcome to sit during most of their grooming time & all dogs are not made to stand for long periods. Adequate heating & ventilation is provided. Bath water & dryers are all set at a comfortable temperature & pressure suitable for each individual dog.

🐾 FREEDOM FROM FEAR & DISTRESS
All dogs are treated with love and kindness in a calm & caring environment. No dog will be put through pain in the grooming process. Badly matted coats will be carefully & gently clipped off. The behaviour of the dog is monitored at all times to ensure mental wellbeing.

🐾 FREEDOM FROM PAIN, INJURY & DISEASE
All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations & flea/worm treatment to prevent the spread of disease. Any problems identified with the physical wellbeing of the dog during the grooming process will be reported immediately to the owner. Each dog is handled safely & correctly. All salon equipment is cleaned, used correctly & PAT tested for safety.

🐾 FREEDOM TO EXPRESS NORMAL BEHAVIOUR
Sufficient space is provided for our dogs to move and comfort breaks are given as required.
